We impact 1,400+ students in San Marcos every weekend during the school year.
Hungry children can't reach their full potential. Together, we're fueling students with the nourishment they need to succeed in the classroom to build their own future.
2026-2027
This year up to 1,400 hungry children in grades K-12 in SMCISD will receive a nutritious sack of food each weekend of the school year. This is possible because of generous contributors.

Supporting Education by Feeding Children
More than 75% of SMCISD students qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, so while students have access to breakfast and lunch during the school week, many return home on weekends to little or no nutritious food.

Hunger makes it difficult to concentrate, retain information, regulate emotions, and fully participate in the classroom. Students who lack consistent access to nutritious meals are more likely to struggle academically, have lower attendance, and face behavioral challenges that can interfere with learning.

You can always donate these food items!
School Fuel is providing for up to 1,300 students this year, grades K-11. At Christmas, spring break and the end of the year a "special sack" of food is provided to help the children with the longer time away from two free meals each day at school. These "special sacks" have an 18 oz jar of peanut butter, Ritz crackers (in sleeves) and a 1.5 oz Hershey bar.
Donations of these items are needed and can be delivered to the facility on Thursdays during packing events or you can set up a special delivery time by contacting us by email. schoolfuelsmtx@gmail.com
If you wish to make a monetary donation instead, mail a check to School Fuel at 102 Wonder World Drive, Suite 304 - 120, San Marcos, TX 78666 or set up an automatic payment with your bank or credit union or PayPal. It costs just $18.75 per month to help a hungry student succeed at school.

MISSION
School Fuel’s mission is to provide the "fuel" for a better learning environment by removing the pangs of hunger among the students in our classrooms.
WHY?
Over 75% of our SMCISD students qualify for free or reduced meals at school. They go home on the weekends to little or no food at home. Statistics show that children who struggle with hunger at home perform at lower levels in school during the week.
HOW?
School Fuel is currently serving 1,300 students who have a high-risk of little or no food at home. Each Friday of the school year, the students receive a sack containing supplemental foods that they can easily open and serve themselves.
HELP!
School Fuel is solely managed and operated by volunteers. Volunteers keep the operation costs low, which maximizes the number of children we are able to feed. Our operation is sustained by donations. $225 will provide weekend food for a child during the school year.
